about action movies
lately i've been catching on the genre of action movies and thrillers — i've watched a bunch of them as they are abundant all time of year so convenient when you set a movie meetup, but it's not by love. i do get entertained though and i wanted to have more reference of the classics (bad and good one) first by rewatching the Bourne trilogy, because i love the first one (The Bourne Identity, 2002)... basically i love action movies that have more psychological action than fights for the love of fights. i've then watched a bunch of usamerica (or other type of) propaganda (like copaganda) (one part which is greatly entertaining as you can laugh in disbelief), by choice (a few includes the 1st and 4th Rambo, Die Hard, Atomic Blonde, the sequel to the Bourne Identity).
but truly i also found gems in some of my first watches of action movies: mainly The Driver (1978) also in the lesbian category of erotic thriller: Love Lies Bleeding, i hadn't expected to like it so much! and the Black Angel vol. 2 (1999). i was so surprised by Black Angel 2 i have to say, i initially watched it because there's Amami Yuki in a main role, but she's not in the vol. 1. I thought i'd need to watch the 1st first but turns out not really? anyways the 1st was not my favorite but was way more action packed, but also more tacky. i guess the fans of japanese neo-noir movies like that one better for that reason? [forgot to say, cw for violence and sexual assault (graphic)]. the second is so less tacky, even more visually appealing, and also has alot more of in depth of psychological exploration of endless cycles of violence, grief, loyalty and betrayal... like the first, it focus on the intertwinement of a trio that [...] i can't say more. i think u should still watch both in order to fully get the depth and universe the second takes place in.
